Pressure Washing

Pressure Washing in Portland, OR

While our great Portland climate makes trees, flowers, grass and shrubs lush and green, it also provides the perfect environment for growth of moss and algae on your decks, walks, patios, and driveways—making them slippery and dangerous when wet, which in Oregon, is most of the year!

Clean Driveways and Walks are Safe Driveways and Walks!

Keeping your walks and driveways clean and clear of grime, grease and algae means they won’t be slippery in our Pacific Northwest rainy season, in other words, year round! Cleaning and protecting your decks, walks, patios, and driveways will extend their useful life and save you money in the long run.
Our Methods for Pressure Washing
The best solution for keeping your walkways clean and free of slippery growth is through routine pressure washing. At Action Window & Gutter Cleaning, we use different pressure washers and pressure washing equipment for different jobs.

On concrete, we use a high-powered machine for fast, economical results. On wood, we use a lower-powered machine, which still cleans but doesn’t tend to tear up the wood. After washing, wood should be treated or painted to preserve it.

Your foundations, walkways and driveways seem tough and durable because they are made of concrete, when in actuality; concrete is just a special mixture of sand and gravel that’s porous. Water creeps into the small holes and cracks of concrete, and eventually causes the concrete to deteriorate and break up, requiring expensive replacement.

Of course concrete also gets dirty, which is not only unsightly, but unsafe. Dirty concrete is slippery, and even more so if it has a patina of algae on it. The best solution is pressure washing to remove the dirt and algae, but pressure washing tends to wear away the concrete. So pressure washing followed by a commercial grade sealant on your foundation, walks and driveway is the best solution for long term care of your home.

We don’t recommend pressure washing your siding. Too many things can go wrong. We recommend literally washing your house just like it was a big car, with a low pressure wash, scrub brushes and soap, followed by a rinse. This proven method is a much safer solution that leaves your home clean, while preserving the life of your siding.
